How Hope UAE started.
In May 2013, three individuals from the Filipino Congregation of Hope Church Singapore were encouraged to meet and fellowship with one another. They belong to different units and life groups in Singapore but they have a single heartbeat which was to share the love they have found in Christ and to extend that warm feeling of home away from home they have experienced in life group. Thus when they were challenged to start a life group – with faith, they trusted and held on the promise that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion, which marked the beginning of Hope Filipino Dubai. After a few days of the initial meeting and with eagerness, the first life group gathering was held in a food court with other kabayans – mostly these kabayans were also from Hope Singapore. By July, the first formal life group was held in a flat in Jebel Ali. And just before 2013 ended the 1st worship service was held. Indeed God is faithful.
Here are some of the history highlights for 2013:
- 19 May 2013 – Initial meeting
- 22 May 2013 – 1St LG – Mobile LG
- 10 July 2013 – 1st Formal LG
- 30th Nov 2013 – 1st Worship Service
By 2014, Hope Filipino Dubai name was changed to Hope Church Dubai. We strive to be a community that is Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-empowered, Bible-based, and committed to God and each other. We aim to be visionary disciple makers and church planters belonging to an apostolic movement. At the heart of these values is our desire to exemplify Christ in our daily lives, spreading the love of God far and wide and touching many lives.
