Have you noticed that when we are in a gathering such as meeting, dinner or a celebration many people are focusing on their phone? Even when we are with our friends, we tend to be more concerned about our “friends” on social media. In this modern world, technology becomes a distraction and we no longer pay attention to the people around us. Many people have this attitude of “me! me! me!” – self-centered individuals who only cares about themselves. I believe that one of the best gifts that we can give to others is our time and attention because once we give it, we cannot get it back – it is very precious. Let’s not just focus on ourselves, instead give time to people who might need someone to talk to. We can spend quality time with a friend over a cup of coffee. Take an initiative to listen to someone who might be in distress. As they say – “disconnect to connect”. We can have a happier and better relationships if we learn the art of paying attention and that is an act of love. Are you interested with what’s going on with your best friend?
