When was the last time you prayed but instead of asking, you were thanking the Lord? When was the last time you fell your face down and thanked Him from the bottom of your heart and with physical posture? These verses remind us that we should always be thankful to Him for His healing, power, mercy and grace. Out of the ten lepers, only one came back and praised Him and showed his gratitude to the Lord. A clear lesson is that Jesus expects us to be grateful. We must train ourselves to show thanks, to give thanks, to be filled with thanksgiving. A life of thanksgiving is a life of prayer. We should always be thankful enough to throw ourselves at Jesus’ feet.
Lord, I pray that You remove my inhibitions and my pride and help me more openly express to you my deeply felt thanks and praise through the emotions of my heart, the words that pass my lips, and the posture of my body. Put thankfulness into my heart and soul. Let me speak it, sing it, and live it. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
