Have you been in a difficult situation when you felt like giving up because there is no obvious solution? It could be a financial crisis, a health issue or marriage problem. Whatever it is, sometimes it leaves us feeling hopeless, defeated and afraid. This verse is part of King Jehoshaphat’s ultimate war when armies of armies were about to attack him.
His first instict wasn’t to be discouraged. His first action wasn’t to consult his advisers but instead he seek God. They fasted and prayed that showed their humility and dependence on the Lord and they were never forsaken. They stood firm and gave songs of praises; the battle was not theirs but it was Lord’s.
So whatever battle you have now, just stand tall and be confident that you have God by your side. Seek His face and give thanks to the Lord because His love endures forever. Do not be discouraged or be afraid as we have the best ally that nobody can defeat. I have this one very close friend who is not giving up on his difficult situation – he continue to praise and depend on God; at the same time, he is doing his part by working so hard and not letting those adversities become a hindrance in his journey with Jesus.
How do you respond to your crisis right now? Do you post it on Facebook? Are you venting out your frustrations to your friends? Do you isolate yourself? I challenge you to stand up and seek His face.
